Too Funny!!!

Ok, this was too funny to not post.  We set up the slip n slide the other day and Brooklyn spent the entire time trying to drink the water.  She must have done this for about 15 minutes.  She would squat in one spot for a few minutes and then move to another.  Finally she tried drinking the water in the puddles.  It was hilarious!!!  What a goofball.  (Maybe she's trying to tell me she needs more water.)

Digital Scrapbooking, Here I Come!!!

This past week I went to visit my parents and my mom was nice enough to show me the finer points of Photoshop Elements 6.  She has spent many many many hours learning and using this program and she was nice enough to share her vast knowledge with me.  It was a ton of fun and I'm hooked.  Here are some of the pages I've produced so far.

Thank you to my Mom for teaching me and for getting me the program for my Birthday.  You're the BEST!!!

BMX anyone?

So many of you know my husband Billy, but if you don't I thought I would share a little about him. . .
When Billy does something he doesn't just do it half way.  This summer he decided that it would be fun to do some BMX biking.  Well, we now have 3 BMX bikes.  But that wasn't enough, he needed to have some ramps and stuff to make the BMX bikes more fun.  Some of you might say, "Just go to a skate park."  Not Billy,  he decided he would build them himself. So while I was in Bremerton visiting my parents he built a ramp.  Here it is. . .
One ramp isn't very fun so he built a box to go with it. . .
. . .with the help of Niko and couple friends.

Oh, and one more thing . . . he shaved his head.
Now I know that a lot of you might be thinking that he's having some kind of mid-life crisis, but don't worry that's just my sweet, wonderful husband and I wouldn't trade him for the world.

Summer Days Fly By

Well here we are more than half-way through July and time is flying.  I thought I would catch you up on what has been going on around here.  Nicholas attended cub day camp, he had a lot of fun doing archery and arts and crafts.  He even made a cool clock that really works.  (Sorry if the picture isn't very good.  I had to use my phone)
Lucy celebrated her 7th birthday on the 9th of July.  We celebrated with 7 of her friends at Chuck E Cheese's.  It was a lot of fun for the kids and pretty stress free for me.  I can't believe that my little girl is 7.
This is the invitation I made on my new computer.
Lucy and Chuck E
This is just a cute picture of Brooklyn that I thought I'd share.

Happy Birthday to me!!!

So, many of you know that we have been trying to get our den/office organized, we bought some cabinets and had them installed.  Then came the job of trying to get all the cr...stuff back into the den and organized.  Well I've been working like crazy on it and I'm still not quite done but the den is at least functional now.  Here is a picture. . .
With the new work space we needed a new computer so I told Billy to get me one for my birthday.  We debated between a Mac or a PC but I gave Billy the final choice and he chose a Mac (surprise, surprise).  So I am actually posting this from my new Mac.  So far it's pretty good.  I played around with it a little yesterday and was actually pretty impressed.  I even managed to make my first movie with iMovie and it was pretty fun.  I would post it but it's 5 minutes long of Noah's pre-school program.  The only thing that really bugs me so far is that there is no right mouse button and I use that a lot to cut and paste things.  Oh well, change is good, right?  (By the way the picture doesn't really do it justice, it is a 24 inch screen.)
On a side note, something really cool happened while Billy and the kids were buying the computer. . (just one more side note, Billy had all the kids with him because I was up til' 3:30am witnessing the birth of my good friend Deanna's baby girl- Lexis Hope.  It was amazing and I'm so glad I was able to be there!  ok, back to the other side note. . )  Some of you know about the family in our ward who's daughter was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor last october.  The little girl is 6 and her name is Mara.  (If you would like to read more about her and her family they have a blog at maraadams.com ) On Friday, Mara was going in for an MRI because her parents were concerned about some symptoms that Mara was showing.  We all have purple t-shirts that say Mara's Team on them and Billy and the kids were all wearing them on Friday to show support for Mara and her family.  The salesman that was helping Billy asked what all the purple shirts were for, so Billy explained a little about the situation.  When the salesman was checking Billy out he went into the back and came out with a purple iPod shuffle and gave it to Billy for free to give to Mara.  It's amazing how many wonderful people there are in the world.  (GO MARA'S TEAM!!!)

Summer Fun

Well I have officially survived my first week of summer vacation.  It wasn't too bad.   Until this weekend when I realized all the things I had let fall through the cracks for primary.  Luckily they weren't too important, just things I wanted to get done sooner.  Oh well.
The kids had fun playing with neighbors, riding bikes, and going to the outdoor pool at Bally's where I workout.  Here are a few pictures from the week.

Nothing beats a popsicle on a hot day!!!

Lucy, Brooklyn, Noah and some neighbors
We discovered that Brooklyn LOVES the pool!!!
The other kids love it too!!!

Catching up on random stuff

So I realize that I am not the most faithful blogger. Maybe someday I will be, it will probably be the same day that I am totally caught up on my laundry, which for those of you with kids knows, is never. That being said, I did have a few minutes so I thought I would just catch up on a few random things.

This is our family on Easter Sunday, I realized that there weren't very many pictures (if any) of our whole family. So here we are. For those of you who don't know, our family took up snowboarding this year. Well technically, Billy and Niko started last year, but Lucy and I joined them this year and we've had a blast! These pictures are from our trip to Red Mountain in Canada (just north of Spokane). It was one the funnest weekends we've had as a family. The snow was perfect and there was tons of it. It snowed about 2 ft in the few days before we got there and another 3 ft. while we were there. Talk about heaven!

Niko and Billy on top of the world. (or at least the mountain)

Look, I found another picture of our whole family.

Nichole and Niko, the views were AMAZING!!!

This video is of Lucy at the beginning of the season, unfortunately, she didn't snowboard in Canada because her leg was still bothering her from when she hurt it at Brooklyn's party.

Well I think my time is up. Hopefully I will be able to blog again soon.

Lucy's Leg

I just wanted to let you all know that Lucy's leg is feeling much better, she even went to school without her crutches today. Although, I think if it had been up to her she would have taken them just for the attention.

Happy Birthday Brooklyn!!!

Well here it goes, we'll see if I can actually get this post to work. . .

Brooklyn celebrated her 1st birthday this week. I can't believe she is one! Luckily she is still pretty small so I feel like she is still my baby. She is walking now and is starting to realize how much more she can get into, not really good for me, she particularly likes pulling things out of the cupboards and playing with the dog food. She is very dramatic and can go from being totally happy, to bawling her head off with big crocodile tears, and then back to happy in less than a minute. I feel kindof bad that I laugh when she starts crying but I can't help it she is just so cute.

Anyways, we started off the week by taking her to get her pictures taken. I think they turned out really cute.

Friday was her actual birthday and on Saturday we had a party for her. It was a lot of fun with family and friends. Brooklyn's cake was made by one of my neighbors and Brooklyn did a great job eating it and playing with the frosting.

Oh yeah and by the way, during the party, Lucy was outside jumping on the trampoline with a few other kids and we all hear crying. I look out the window and see Lucy holding her leg and crying. Talk about de javu. Anyways, after the party we ended up taking her to the ER and luckily it's not broken but she does have a contusion (basically a really deep bruise that goes all the way to the bone) so they had to put a splint on it and we are supposed to follow up with an orthopedist next week. It is not the same leg she broke before, and it is on her shin, not her femur, but I can't help thinking I've done this before. . .

Ok, So I'm a little behind. . .

I know I haven't been a very good blogger lately but I thought I would post a few pics from the last couple months to catch up a little. Everyone is doing well and although life is going way too fast, I really can't complain, we are very blessed. . .
OK! Change of plans. . . I started this post about a week ago, I keep trying to find time to finish it. . . I tried this morning but for some reason my pictures aren't uploading so I'm posting this just so y'all know I tried and I'll get back to blogging when I get a chance. But don't hold your breath. Sorry!
