So, many of you know that we have been trying to get our den/office organized, we bought some cabinets and had them installed. Then came the job of trying to get all the cr...stuff back into the den and organized. Well I've been working like crazy on it and I'm still not quite done but the den is at least functional now. Here is a picture. . .
With the new work space we needed a new computer so I told Billy to get me one for my birthday. We debated between a Mac or a PC but I gave Billy the final choice and he chose a Mac (surprise, surprise). So I am actually posting this from my new Mac. So far it's pretty good. I played around with it a little yesterday and was actually pretty impressed. I even managed to make my first movie with iMovie and it was pretty fun. I would post it but it's 5 minutes long of Noah's pre-school program. The only thing that really bugs me so far is that there is no right mouse button and I use that a lot to cut and paste things. Oh well, change is good, right? (By the way the picture doesn't really do it justice, it is a 24 inch screen.)On a side note, something really cool happened while Billy and the kids were buying the computer. . (just one more side note, Billy had all the kids with him because I was up til' 3:30am witnessing the birth of my good friend Deanna's baby girl- Lexis Hope. It was amazing and I'm so glad I was able to be there! ok, back to the other side note. . ) Some of you know about the family in our ward who's daughter was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor last october. The little girl is 6 and her name is Mara. (If you would like to read more about her and her family they have a blog at maraadams.com ) On Friday, Mara was going in for an MRI because her parents were concerned about some symptoms that Mara was showing. We all have purple t-shirts that say Mara's Team on them and Billy and the kids were all wearing them on Friday to show support for Mara and her family. The salesman that was helping Billy asked what all the purple shirts were for, so Billy explained a little about the situation. When the salesman was checking Billy out he went into the back and came out with a purple iPod shuffle and gave it to Billy for free to give to Mara. It's amazing how many wonderful people there are in the world. (GO MARA'S TEAM!!!)

That is awesome!! The new computer and the Ipod for Mara!! People can be so nice!!
Your den and computer look awesome! That's so cool that you got to be there for Lexis's birth. Tell Deanna and family congratulations! Love the name! It is an amazing experience to watch a new baby enter this world. Born on your birthday? How cool is that!
Sweet story about the I-Pod for Mara. It brightens one's day to be reminded of the good that goes on in the world.
Cute summer pictures too! Great post! Keep it up!
I just realized that Lexis wasn't born on your birthday. I happened to be talking to you the day you got the computer--and it wasn't on Tuesday! I may be slow, but eventually I can put 2 and 2 together! :)
So I know I'm the anti-Mac person, but I do love iMovie, it is an amazing program. The more you play with it the better it gets and so intuitive. Also the screen is awesome, that was the size they had at BYU and I loved it, especially when I was using iMovie. I'm pretty sure at BYU they had 2 button mice for a few of their macs, so there must be some program or something that you can get. Finally, LOVE the cabinets, it looks so great. How do you like working on the stool?
